Sharkstooth Scrim

Sharkstooth scrim is woven in an open, gauze-like pattern that reads as a solid surface when it’s lit from the front and becomes see-through the instant you bring up light from behind. We cut and sew it from a cotton-poly sharkstooth base in black or white, in seamed widths built to your proscenium or truss span, so the weave lines up cleanly across every panel with no visible seams from the house.

Your logo, set piece, or scenic pattern is dye-sublimated or hand-airbrushed onto the scrim in Lantern Stage Co. style detail, and it holds up under both lighting states — a printed skyline, product mark, or house logo stays crisp when it’s solid and fades to a soft silhouette when the scrim goes transparent. We proof the artwork against both looks before we cut fabric, not just the front-lit version.

Directors use it for reveal effects, ghost scenes, dream sequences, and silhouette work, and AV teams use it as a rear-projection surface that can vanish the moment the projector cuts. It shows up on tour with rock acts, in black-box school productions, and behind praise bands that want a logo wall one moment and an open stage the next.
