Frequently asked
FAQ
Everything about ordering custom stage scrims — and if your question isn’t here, just call or text us.
Ordering
What’s your minimum order?
There’s no minimum — every scrim is made to order, so we’ll build a single custom piece as readily as a full masking package. Because these are large made-to-order items, we price per piece by square footage rather than by unit count.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. Touring productions, AV and rental companies, and multi-campus churches ordering multiple matching pieces get volume pricing. Tell us how many identical units you need and we’ll tier the quote.
Can you match an existing scrim or drape we already own?
Yes. Send us the fabric, color, finish, and dimensions of your current piece (a sample or photos help) and we’ll build a match so it drops into your existing plot seamlessly.
Can I order a sample before committing?
Yes. We can provide fabric swatches so you can confirm color, weave, and hand before we cut your piece. Ask when you request your quote.
Can I reorder later and match my last piece?
Yes. We keep your dimensions, fabric, finish, and any artwork on file, so reorders and additional matching units are fast and consistent.
Design & Artwork
Do you charge for mockups?
No. Mockups are free with unlimited revisions until you approve. You only pay once the design and specs are signed off and production begins.
What artwork files do you need for a printed scrim?
Vector or high-resolution files are ideal for logos and graphics; for photographic cycs we need the highest-resolution image you have. If your art isn’t print-ready, our designers will prepare it for large-format output at no charge.
Can you match specific brand or Pantone colors?
Yes. Dye-sublimation printing reproduces exact brand and Pantone colors consistently across every panel, which matters for corporate and touring work.
Can you hand-paint a scrim instead of printing it?
Yes. We offer traditional scenic hand-painting for show drops and translucencies where painterly texture is the goal, in addition to dye-sublimation printing and seamless screen printing.
How many revisions do I get?
Unlimited, and always free, until you approve the mockup and specifications.
Production & Shipping
How long does production take?
About 2–4 weeks from approved mockup and final measurements, depending on size, fabric, and decoration. Rush production may be available for a firm production or event date — ask us.
How fast can I get a mockup?
We return a photo-real mockup within 24–48 hours of receiving your dimensions and any artwork.
Do you offer rush production?
Yes. Rush is available for firm opening nights, tour dates, and event deadlines — tell us your in-hands date and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
Where do you ship?
Nationwide across the U.S., and internationally on request. Large drops fold compactly and ship well; see our Shipping Policy for details.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is quoted with your order based on the size, weight, and destination of the finished piece.
What if my scrim arrives damaged or off-spec?
We make it right. If a piece arrives defective or doesn’t match your approved mockup and measurements, we remake or replace the affected item.
Pricing & Payment
How much do custom stage scrims cost?
Pricing is by quote and runs roughly $6–$22 / sq ft, varying with fabric, size, and print. Each product page shows its range. Because scrims are large made-to-order pieces, we price per piece rather than per unit.
Why don’t you list exact prices?
The price of a scrim depends on its finished square footage, the fabric, the decoration method, and the finishing — so an accurate number only comes from a quote, which we return within one business day.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards, ACH bank transfer, and purchase orders for established venues, production companies, schools, and houses of worship.
Do you offer a lowest-price guarantee?
Yes. If you have a comparable written quote for an equivalent piece, we’ll match or beat it.
Product & Care
What fabrics do you work with?
Sharkstooth scrim gauze, seamless muslin, poly stretch knit, and flame-retardant (FR) fabric, plus velour, commando cloth, and duvetyne for masking. We match the material to your effect, budget, and stage.
Are your scrims flame-retardant / NFPA 701 certified?
Yes. We build on inherently FR or FR-treated fabric certified to NFPA 701 and provide documentation for your venue’s fire marshal. Nearly every venue requires this, so we treat it as standard.
How does a sharkstooth scrim work?
Its open leno weave reads as solid when lit from the front and turns transparent when lit from behind — the classic reveal used for ghost effects, dream sequences, and dissolving a drop into a live scene.
How do I care for and store a scrim?
Store drops loosely folded or rolled in a clean, dry space; avoid prolonged damp and direct sun. Spot-clean per fabric type; many FR treatments should not be machine-washed. We include care guidance with every piece.
Can a scrim be used for both projection and lighting?
Yes — seamless muslin and poly stretch surfaces take color washes and projection well, and we can advise on the right fabric grade for your projector brightness and throw.
